Five persons, including four employees of a television company, were yesterday arrested by the ICAC for alleged corruption over service contracts in relation to entertainment shows produced by the TV company.

Arrested in the operation, codenamed "Valiant", included a general manager, a marketing and sales manager, an executive producer, and an artiste of the TV company.

Also arrested was a director of an advertising and production company, of which the afore-mentioned artiste is a shareholder.

It was alleged that the arrested general manager and the marketing and sales manager might have accepted advantages from the director of the advertising company for helping the latter secure service contracts in relation to various shows produced by the TV company.

It was also alleged that with the corrupt assistance of the general manager and the executive producer, a number of artistes of the TV company were asked to perform in variety shows produced by the advertising company at a lower fee.

The television company has rendered full assistance to the ICAC in its investigation.
